Discover Dogs at Earls Court November 8th & 9th 2008 The RBT Club won V.H.C. Best Dressed Booth. What lovely news; The RBT Club Booth at Discover Dogs 8th – 9th November has won V.H.C. Best Dressed Booth Congratulations to Club Coordinator Shirley Hockenhull who sets the booth up with all the paraphernalia that goes hand in hand with educating the visiting public on choosing buying a dog.. Shirley mans this booth every year escorting her bunch of two or three RBT’s. This time it was ‘Red’ Robroyd Red Square With Ultrastar (B), Saavick’ Robroyd Erotiida with Ultrastar (B) and with the help of club members who also bring their dogs.
Saturday had Iain and Angela Dickenson with two BT’s. Ann
Taylor with ‘Zolo’, Robroyd Zoloto (D). and Pat Moncur with ‘Zulu’, Tomain Burnt
Hope at Balleroy (B). Sunday had Steve and Adrienne Boundy with ‘Bella’,
Potterspride Feodora (B), Pat Trinnick with
Lusalsha Love Is All
Around or is it Black Beauty sporting her yellow ‘Pat Dog’ jacket
and
The booth
was well displayed with the policy the cl Shirley told me that a man who owns three RBT’s had met up with her again who she had helped teach how to groom his dogs at All About Dogs. He came to Earls Court with one final question. How do I trim the legs? He mentioned to Shirley he had accomplished the rest but failed when it came to leg hair. Shirley put Saavick on the table and showed him…Another happy chappie…
How lovely it was to see a photo of Shirley and Red advertising Discover Dogs prior to the event in the October Kennel Gazette. Congratulations and well done Shirley and the charming RBT Club members who made time to attend to join in and promote dogs in general and our ‘Russian Pearl’. Worth a second mention; I really hope people looking to purchase an RBT will attend events such as Discover Dogs and see the dogs mixing with the visiting public. It’s a great place to learn more of the breed and have interaction with the dogs. The negative issues and the attributes of the breed are well worth listening to from the members who bring their own dogs. The Kennel Club work well together with clubs and together make Discover Dogs… the ‘Best of the Best’… Of course there’s more! Kathy Gallagher writes after hearing the news; ‘Well Done Shirley; I cant imagine how you have managed to do all that you have done this weekend with DD and be going away tomorrow morning, and its all done for the love of the breed. Thank you Shirley. Have a great time in the States you deserve it, safe journey’… Angela Dickenson writes; ‘I was on the stall with my husband, Iain, on the Saturday. We took the new babies, ‘Anoushka’ Paddy Spring of Kerry (B) and ‘Vanya’ Redrhino Im Dzimi (D). Mischa's stayed at home to organise security there! Anoushka and Vanya behaved immaculately, they loved every minute of the show. Everyone fell in love with them and they had so many photos taken. Towards the end of the day they kept falling asleep, but as soon as anyone came up to the stand they turned on the charm and played to the gallery like real pro's. We were just so very proud of them…. More news as it comes in….Janet Huxley
OPEN SHOW AND FUN DAY 4TH MAY 2008 Results of the Club Open Show 4th May, can also be viewed on the 'SHOW RESULTS' PAGE
Photo: Judge; Kath Mitchell, escorted in to the ring by President of the Club Tom Huxley. Judge's Report; 4th May at Wentworth Castle Barnsley. Mrs Kath Mitchell. "I was delighted to have been asked to officiate at this event as I was there at the breeds introduction to the UK and have watched it with interest ever since. I also knew that the club would put on a superb show both for the exhibitors and for the judge of the day. Wentworth Castle is a wonderful venue, affording great facilities, not to mention the view you can catch and enjoy between classes. The show was held in true, dare I say, "old fashioned" style with applause from the exhibitors to the class winners and, at the end of the day, a superb Yorkshire lunch with the Club's committee and members/friends. I found the dogs and bitches well behaved and having many qualities desired in the breed. It was a pleasure in very respect...
Class 1 Pet Trim D/B (3) 1st Knight's; Kenmilleven Amalthea, nice baby female, lovely style. I liked her feminine expression, good eye, she was great on the move, I hope her owners practice the showmanship side of the breed as I feel this little lady will do very well there. 2nd Wilson's Robroyd Chernika; 4 year old lady, well bodied, nice outlook, did not show herself off so much today.
Class 2 Veteran D/B (5) It is hard to believe that we could have veterans in this breed but it was nice to see these examples here today supporting the Club. 1st McDonald-Ulliott's Hibeck Isabella; 9 years old and very fit, stylish and presented well, moves fab and defies her years, very smart and typical. 2nd Newton's Hibeck Sophia At Lintweed; also 9 years, nice head and eye carrying a bit of weight but showing style underneath. A fine mature lady.
Veteran Class
Class 6 P.Grad D (3) 1st Newton's Armshead Sergi At Lintweed; mature boy, great bone and substance. Moves with a good gait but too much body weight did him no favours, good neck and head carriage.
2nd Burridge's Robroyd Evarest; I liked this dog, first time shown today, lovely head and expression. If his owner practised the show stance he would look great, fantastic movement. 3rd Jones' Tomain Ama Geezer
Class Limit D (3) . 1st Bridge's Liskarn Faberge; what a cracker this dog is, great outline, he shows himself off, to show true type. Presented perfectly in my eye to compliment him. Good head and eye, sits on a perfectly proportioned neck into a great topline to a short loin and strong rump. He was full of vigour on the move and when he showed slightly he was great to watch. He challenged well for Best Dog .-- one day -- I am sure.
Class Class 8 Open D. (3) 1st Galli's Robroyd Gigolo iz Lisander; a lovely style and outline on this boy, Powerful and good bone. Great head and a lovely neck withers correctly placed. Topline into a strong rump with good tail and set, great rear movement and profile look also good. Best Dog today. 2nd Carlin's Tomain Burnt Warrior; A substantial boy, great bone and substance, good head again, good neck length and shoulders. Not quite so positive on the move as No 1. Bitches. Class 12 Junior B. (2) 1st Huxley's Robroyd I Lyka; This young lady has a natural stance and needs no stacking help from her handler, superb outline, sound in every way, she has the style and femininity whilst also oozing "RBT". . Fabulous, I had no hesitation in awarding her Best Bitch and Best in Show. 2nd Newton's Lintweed Whopie; A lovely young lady, she shows herself so well, lovely head and carriage and neck. Good body and fine on the move.
1st Little's Jolikai All Fun and Games; A nice sized bitch, she moves well and is stylish when standing. Good head and expression. Well off for bone and body. Nice girl. 2nd Perk's Fernwood Dragomira at Dromnagus; Very stylish and handled to best advantage. Good outline, feminine outlook. Moved well. 3rd Tomain Burnt Hope at Balleroy.
Class 14 Limit B (5). 1st Hockenhull's Robroyd Red Square with Ultrastar; Well grown bitch, lots of "RBT" qualities, nice style, great substance and body. Nice head and expression, she moves really well. 2nd Perk's Fernwood Dragomira at Dromnagus (handled by Jayne) 3rd Huxley's Robroyd Evfalliia (handled by Aaron).
Class Open B (7)
2nd Huxley's Robroyd Romantica; A large bitch also with style, again good bone and substance. Today not moving quite as positively as I am sure she can. K.C. G.C.D. Scheme; 1st Moncur's Tomain Burnt Hope at Balleroy, well proportioned and great on the move, nice head and expression. 2nd Hockenhull's Robroyd Erotida with Ultrastar; A bitch with good proportions, unfortunately she does not show herself off on the move.
