All the committee were saddened. to read out Our Chairman Mr Ron Carter's letter of resignation at the committee meeting held 18th February 2007 Dear Ron, You have been the strength of the club and Chaired committee meetings with the greatest of respect for all (the family). We have had some great debates even before the very first inaugural meeting which we set up at the match night way back in 1997. Ron you and your dear Kay were very much involved with the setting up of all the Kennel Club regulations to make the club recognised. As a founder member of the club you have been very attentive working towards the betterment of the breed. It was you Ron who wrote the clubs ‘Code of Ethics’ and very well might I say. Ron you was the first person to judge the RBT’s in the U.K. at Championship Shows when the breed was finally moved from the Import register. Ron your smiling face and welcoming words when greeting our members whilst escorting them into the show venue again you will be sadly missed. Always their to help on the Discover Dogs booth every year since the very first invitation from the Kennel Club. and much, much more, in other areas, too many to mention. We shall miss you a great deal as Chairman but I do know Ron you will always be their for us, anytime day or night and there will always be a place on the committee anytime especially for you. Would you kindly accept the enclosed which was unanimously agreed upon at the meeting that you become an Honorary Life Member of the Russian Black Terrier Club. Ron God bless you, On behalf of the officers and the committee, Yours sincerely, Janet Huxley Hon Sec Mr Ron Carter resigned from his official duties as Chairman of the RBT Club and it is such a lovely letter I felt it should be published. “Words for once failed me, when I
received the Honorary life membership certificate. What an honour, it really did
knock me for six. |
