Members & Friends Day  1st April

"Would you please pass on our thanks to all who worked to make Sunday such a success.  We were given such a lot of good information, especially from Peter who clipped Tatiana for us.  We will try to keep her "up to spec". We all had a lazy day yesterday having returned home at 01-15. Although dogs have beds and we stop for walks, watering and feeds I am sure they were very tired.  We only went a short walk yesterday late afternoon.  As you know with us living out in the wilds and having our own ground they can get out whenever they want for as long or short a time as they want.  Will probably "do" a different walk today.  They always like to return to familiar walks but also like to go to new places for new sniffs.  One thing we did yesterday was to look out the disk of pics we took whilst our girl was very young - oh goodness, we were charmed to looked at them especially the movie clips.  How she has grown!     We will keep in touch and no doubt see you again in a few months"...

Kindest regards, Members, Isobel & Ferries Little.

  Judging Dogs                                                                                                           judging Bitches

Mr Alan Mease (Barembak)                                                                                                                                    Mrs Angela Smith    (Briannor)

Linda Searson writes; Its the morning after the day and the night before!  Andrew and I are still on a high because we came second in our first ever show with our boy in the junior class.  Andrew didn't want a red rosette because he reckoned it wouldn't match his blue and white checked shirt! - Fred didn't either as his shirt was also blue but he ended up with a red one and a few more colours besides. The backdrop of the rhododendrons, the surrounding views, the wonderful old castle and the natural arena all lent themselves to a perfect venue which is hard to beat. The weather was good if just a bit humid but not too hot for the  dogs.  The atmosphere seemed quiet and relaxed, a typical Sunday, everyone enjoying having a day out with this great breed and good friends .Andrew and I washed Jet the night before the show. No bath or blower just buckets, jugs, shampoo, waterproofs and wellies.  Our patio has never been so clean!  We then used loads of towels and my hairdryer to dry him.  We thought it would take all night but were surprised that it only took and hour.

We arrived on the show ground the following morning feeling rather apprehensive with our grooming bag and Jet.  We were soon put at ease -everyone made us so welcome and made sure we knew what to do.  Thanks to Tom Huxley for the use of his table, Tom Rigby who trimmed Jet and for his words of wisdom as he snipped away.  One day very soon I think we will have mastered the art of trimming - but if at first you don't succeed......  Thanks also to Sue Jones for the elastic band from her box of tricks Andrew used to fasten his number to his arm - oh dear we weren't very organised.  A big thanks to Keith Bellringer (HVS) who came to our rescue after Jet  had a bit of a do with a wasp in his beard.  It could only happen to us! I am so proud of my hubby and our boy.  To say it was their first time in the show ring they did so well.  Andrew was so pleased with his rosette he finally unpinned it from his shirt when we returned home late last night.  It is now adorning Jet's pen.  Lets hope we acquire a few more.  I must make sure Andrew has a red an white checked shirt for our next show - after all you never know your luck.

We have made a lot of new friends through the RBT club which is run with such enthusiasm, great interest and above all the welfare for the breed.  Yesterday said it all.  The organisation was second to none achieved through great camaraderie. Our Sunday lunch was excellent and enjoyed in lovely surroundings. Our day finished off with a glass (or three) of wine and nibbles on the patio at Tom and Janet's and with a few others we sat and reflected on a great day that seemed to go without a hitch. thank you all - you are wonderful people.
